FedEx vs UPS Livery

Both FedEx and UPS operate McDonnell Douglas MD-11F cargo services to Sydney International Airport six days each week. FedEx has a fleet of 237 aircraft, and UPS has a fleet of 420 aircraft (as of 2017 from planespotters.net). On the Left Hand Side of the comparison is FedEx's livery, and on the Right Hand Side is UPS' livery.

Changes Between these Liveries:
  • FedEx features their logo on the forward fuselage and all three engines, whereas the UPS logo is only on the tail.
  • FedEx has a fully purple tail which wraps under the rear fuselage, whereas UPS has a brown tail wrapping from the top of the front fuselage to underneath the rear fuselage, and a yellow cheatline.
  • FedEx MD11's have Pratt & Whitney PW4460 engines, whereas UPS MD11's have General Electric CF6-80C2D1F engines. The most noticable difference between the two is the inclusion of tail cones on FedEx's engines.
  • Reverse thrust is still operating on the UPS aircraft.
